Let's talk about innovation and what it means from a consultant's perspective. It means understanding the ability to go outside of your normal patterns, those standard patterns. You are responsible for creating new perspectives, allowing you to develop new approaches when you think outside of your traditional practices; it will enable you to evaluate new methods utilizing AI, digital transformation, and change management to spark innovation.
Therefore, when I think about the milestones, I think about those that challenge us to rise above expectations and slowly move from the traditional consulting paradigm to a multifaceted practice grounded in technological advancement. Digital transformation requires us to explore unimaginable solutions beyond our borders.
So, here are some highlights of the industry's development, from traditional consulting to a multifaceted service offering a plethora of resources such as digital transformation and AI integration (my background) while adapting to global challenges. For example, the pandemic brought about a new normal for our industry, from how we connect with others to how we do business. From the birth of consulting (late 19th century to early 20th century), the growth and specialization era (Mid-20th century) to globalization and expansion that has taken place during the 21st century. Fortunately, each of these phases has built upon the previous one, leading to a consulting industry that is diverse in its expertise and dynamic in its approach to new challenges.
